Andreas Røysum Ensemble
Get ready for a musical vitamin injection!
Andreas Røysum Ensemble is an engaging ensemble filled with top-tier musicians from the younger Nordic jazz scene. It's hard to sit still when this ensemble kicks off with its tasteful compositions and energetic driving passages. The ensemble takes you on a journey to new corners and crannies with a playful approach to music, blending elements from jazz, world music, and soul. The music evokes associations back to the turbulent period in jazz history in the 1970s, giving the ensemble a historical buzz. Nevertheless, this is an ensemble that gives the musicians space and opportunities that belong firmly to the present.
The ensemble recently released their third album "Mysterier," which has garnered good reviews. On this release, they also feature Sofie Tollefsbøl, known from bands like Fieh, as well as Erik Kimestad Pedersen and Øyvind Brække, who complement the ensemble with an exciting brass duo.
Andreas Røysum Ensemble showcases the breadth of the jazz genre with its solid ensemble playing, playfulness, and musicality. The ensemble offers performances of the highest class, and you will likely be surprised by their next musical step. It's part of the package.
